Trial compliant devices

About this list

This list is designed to help A Simple Shift endorsed installers and their customers understand which flexibility systems currently meet the requirements for participation in the A Simple Shift flexibility trial. This list will be updated regularly as additional compliant systems are assessed and approved.

Trial incentives

To support the installation of compliant flexibility technology for this trial, a limited number of households may be able to access the following incentives:

  • $4,000 towards the installation of a residential battery. The battery must have capacity greater than 9kWh. Households may choose to install a larger battery, but the incentive amount will remain the same.
  • Up to $1,500 towards the installation of a home energy management system (HEMS). The HEMS must be connected to at least one household device or load, such as a heat pump, air conditioning unit, hot water cylinder or other smart appliance.
  • Up to $500 towards the installation of a “smart” hot water cylinder or hot water heat pump for new build homes or for households considering retrofits, including hot water cylinder replacements.
