New Havelock North pipeline
We’re building 4.3km of new gas pipeline from Karamu Road South to St Georges Road in Havelock North.
The new pipe has been designed to reinforce the Havelock North network to ensure there’s more than enough gas supply available for customers in the area, as demand for new gas connections continues to grow.
Additionally, the new pipeline is future-proofed to carry new types of gases as Aotearoa moves towards being carbon neutral by 2050.
We’re using directional drilling to minimise disruption to road users and the local community.
The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2022.
