Making it easier to connect to our network

Customers requesting new or modified electricity connections for their home or business can now go directly to Powerco to start the process.  
 
“We’re putting customers front and centre and providing greater transparency in the connection process, thanks to our new way of managing customer work," says Stuart Dickson, Powerco General Manager Customer.  

"By managing the end-to-end customer process, we have greater oversight of the quality, safety, and service we provide, and we're able to engage with customers throughout their journey with us,” he says. 

Customers, or their electricians, can now use Powerco Connect on Powerco’s website to guide them through the process.

“Before customers begin, we suggest they chat with their electrician and gather the necessary details they need,” he says. 

The Powerco team assesses each application, informs customers of what’s involved and associated costs, processes payments and allocates work to Powerco contractors.  
 
"Customers with standard jobs can find out upfront the cost for their work, and this will be the only charge they pay," he adds. 

Stuart Dickson notes Powerco is aware that many customers had been waiting until the new customer delivery service begun to submit their connection requests and, as a result, the team is expecting an influx of work.  
 
“We thank customers for their patience as we manage this influx and support our employees as they embed this new way of working,” he says. 

This new process not only simplifies the connection experience but also offers greater transparency, including more upfront pricing.  
 
“The ability to connect directly with our customers and keep them informed every step of the way, is a key benefit of the new way of working,” he says.
