Design workshop builds relationships
Identifying challenges and using increased collaboration to overcome them, was the focus of a Powerco design consultants workshop held in Auckland last month.
Organised by Powerco’s Substation Design and Protection Team, the workshop brought together the company’s key design service providers.
Held for the seventh time, the ongoing initiative aims to build relationships and improve the way we work – ultimately for the benefit of Powerco's customers.
At the workshop were representatives from Ergo, Edison, Jacobs, Beca, Energetick, Mitton Electronet, Aecom and Connetix.
Topics discussed included upcoming workload, consultants’ evaluation, standard designs and the AUFLS (Automatic Under Frequency Load Shedding) scheme, which will involve the installation of control equipment in 98 substations over a two-to-three year period, and sharing the workload between all Powerco’s consultants.
Powerco received feedback that the workshop “was great for team bonding” and “a small investment for the value it provides, developing better relationships”.
The next workshop, in January, will expand to include people from the wider business, helping to build relationships further.
