Hamish Archer appointed General Manager Data Digital and Technology at Powerco
Powerco is pleased to welcome Hamish Archer as its new General Manager Data, Digital and Technology, based at the organisation's New Plymouth office.
In the role, Hamish will lead how Powerco uses data and technology to strengthen its digital capability, improve the way its systems work together and support better services for customers.
Hamish Archer says it is an exciting time to join Powerco.
“My focus is to redefine the role technology will play at Powerco. Our future will be driven by data, changing how we understand, design, build and operate the network. We need to make better use of our valuable technology and data resources so we can make efficient investment decisions that meet customers’ needs today and into the future,” he says.
“All the technology we need already exists. The opportunity ahead of us, is to embrace it to change how we work and deliver our services, so it creates the greatest benefit for our customers,” he adds.
Hamish joins Powerco from WEL Networks, where he was Chief Digital Officer.
“Hamish brings strong technology, change and leadership experience from the industry. We’re excited to have him lead this work as the sector undergoes significant transformation,” says Powerco Chief Executive Jason Franklin.
Before joining WEL Networks in 2023, Hamish held executive roles with IBM New Zealand and TSB Bank. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Auckland.
