Community Support

Powerco in the community

We are proud to support the communities we operate in, and recognise the importance of supporting events and organisations on a local level as well as regionally and nationally.

We are not actively seeking new sponsorship or community partnership opportunities at this time.
However, if you believe you have a truly extraordinary opportunity for us, please register your interest at Proposals will be reviewed, and a representative from Powerco will be in contact within 4 weeks to advise if your request is to be progressed further.

Powerco receives a significant number of requests to support many worthy causes across our network. While we would love to support all, this is simply not feasible.

Our community partnerships

Powerco Lights Up The Night -
TSB Festival of Lights
Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery
We are the naming-rights sponsor of the TSB Festival of Lights New Year's Eve event - Powerco Lights Up The Night. We couldn't think of a better way to show support for the Taranaki region and visitors to the festival, than funding this popular annual event.  We actively support Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery as the naming-rights sponsor of the Powerco Education Centre. We value the importance of protecting our endangered wildlife and providing a safe haven during recovery. Through our partnership, we're helping our most vulnerable native animals get back on their feet.
Replant for tomorrow
We've teamed up with Wild for Taranaki and Asplundh to deliver Replant for Tomorrow.
This initiative is a promise to plant a tree for every tree removed from our Taranaki network this year.

We’ve teamed up with the Electricity Retailers Association of New Zealand to deliver EnergyMate to Hawera.

This free in-home service, provided by the Hawera Budget Advisory Service, aims to help families manage their energy needs and help keep their homes warm.
