WITT Taranaki Science and Technology Fair

We're passionate about supporting an innovative and diverse workforce, and believe problem-solving and teamwork play a critical role in our industry.

That's why we're a Gold Sponsor of the WITT Taranaki Science and Technology Fair, and proud sponsor of the Robotics category.

Emma Bennett, Powerco’s General Manager Business Transformation says "Robotics allows tomorrow’s creators and innovators to learn STEM concepts in a hands-on environment where fun is a priority."

We look forward to seeing all the talented rangitahi at the event on 8-10 August 2022. Visit taranakisciencefair.co.nz to learn more.

VEX Robotics World Championships

In May 2022, we supported high school student Charlie Mollard to attend the VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas, Texas, USA.

The event sees participation by some 24,000 students from around 70 different countries – attendees must qualify through their country’s national event.

Although Charlie has qualified for the past three years, 2022 was the first time he could actually attend. Charlie’s team competed against 818 teams in the High School section, with his division placing 2nd and Charlie placing 48th overall.

We are supporting Charlie through our STEM sponsorships and are excited to have him join us as an intern later in the year. Our Powerco robot teams look forward to using his talent and expertise!
