We’re working from February to April 2021 to replace poles, cross arms and overhead lines in parts of the Springdale area west of Te Aroha.

Once complete, assets will be up to modern standards ensuring they are safe, reliable and efficient for customers in the area now and in the future.

Our contractor Northpower is conducting the work on our behalf.

We’ll be keeping this page up-to-date so you have the latest information about this project as it progresses.

Please note: Planned outages impact areas outside the ‘Area of works’ map above due to supply being switched off in sections to make lines safe to work on. So while you may live outside the streets highlighted above, you may still be impacted by planned outage/s as below.

Planned outages

To allow field crew to work safely there will be a series of 15 planned outages over the course of the project.

Please note that you won’t be impacted by all 15 outages. To help you plan effectively, you’ll receive advance notification about the outages affecting you from your retailer (the company you pay your power bill to).

If you’re impacted by multiple outages, you’ll receive a separate notification for each outage. You’ll find a summary of outages for each address below.

We’ll be making every effort to ensure this project proceeds as planned, however all work is weather-dependent so our outage dates and times are subject to change.

If your address has multiple ICPs, refer to your retailer notification for detail on which ICP is impacted by a planned outage.

Why does this work require so many outages?
Planned outages are required to allow field crew to work on the lines safely.
We’ll be working as quickly and efficiently as we can to complete the maintenance which involves replacing poles, cross-arms and line in the area of work shown on the map above.

Does Powerco supply generators?
Powerco does not supply generators to customers for planned outages, however you can hire a generator from Aggreko at a discounted rate. Call 0800 004 906 to inquire.
