Powerco promotes career options for girls
Powerco has partnered with Sacred Heart Girls College in an effort to promote girls pursuing careers in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths fields.
Powerco Chief Information Officer Brigitte Columbo and electrical engineering graduate Meera Shanthy have committed to talking to year 11 students at Sacred Heart about ensuring the subjects they chose will give them multiple career options.
Powerco Recruitment Adviser Chris Neal said its about talking to students to tell them about all the opportunities a local company like Powerco can offer them.
“We want to encourage girls to take the science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects to keep their options open but also to show the girls how much fun they can be.”
The trio attended the event today at the school with all the year 11 girls.
There was an introduction to all the career opportunities Powerco offer then Meera and Brigitte talked about their qualifications, their job opportunities and what their role is with Powerco.
