Powerco Surveys more than 3300 consumers at Fieldays

Powerco's stand at the national fieldays last week was a hit with the public, with around 3300 surveys completed over the four days, providing vital information about people's view of their electricity supply.

This is the seventh time Powerco has attended the event, held at Mystery Creek from 12-15 June.

Corporate Affairs Manager Neil Holdom said consumers’ feedback from the surveys would help ensure network investments were aligned with community expectations.

“This has been our most successful event so far. We had eight ipad based survey kiosks and averaged a completed survey every 39 seconds over the four nine-hour days. The number of surveys completed is a record for us and up 14% on last year’s national fieldays.”

“This year we were canvasing customers on their perceptions of planned shutdowns which are critical to maintaining and upgrading New Zealand’s electricity infrastructure.”

A popular feature of Powerco’s site was the Wheel of Mis-Fortune, which people spun to win a prize while also educating young children about safety around electricity networks and a range of other safety related messages.

“The wheel is a positive way to engage people with a safety message like keeping trees on their properties away from power lines and the importance of contacting a Powerco approved tree trimmers if any work needed to be done. We also encouraged people to use the beforeUdig service if they are planning any excavation work to avoid digging up gas pipes and electrical cables.”

Powerco also attends the Central District Field Days in Feilding.
