As a business that is part of your community, we take our responsibility to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep our people safe and well, extremely seriously. During these unsettling times, our priority is to look after the wellbeing of our Powerco whānau and to keep our network running smoothly for those who rely on us.
As defined by the Government, we are classified as an essential service provider, meaning we are required to operate during New Zealand’s Level 2 status and therefore continue to keep the lights on and the gas flowing for our customers and communities.
The completion of Powerco’s planned work programme is critical for the safe operation of the network, and to provide a consistent supply of electricity and gas to our customers during these difficult times.
We are reviewing and prioritising our planned works programme to ensure our networks remain safe and reliable for customers, now and into the future.
Our staff and crews continue working hard to do their best for our customers and their communities. We know these are stressful times for people who are at home and in many cases are working remotely, which is why we are focused on minimising disruption to our customers in the event we need to temporarily turn off their energy supply.
