Power back on in Taranaki
Contractors have Powerco's Taranaki electricity network back to near full capacity after it took a 48-hour battering on Sunday and Monday.
Acting Network Operations Manager Dean Stevenson said repair work in testing conditions overnight had helped restore power to all but 50 customers.
“There are a few pockets of residents still to be reconnected but this should be completed today,” he said.
