Progress Made Restoring Power

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Good progress is being made restoring power to coastal and south Taranaki customers following strong winds today.

Powerco Network Operations Manager Phil Marsh said about 700 customers were still affected.  It was expected that most of those would have power restored by 6pm, while some customers may be without supply until tomorrow.

“Extra resources have been brought into the affected areas to assist with repairs to the network and restoration of supply to customers.”

Mr Marsh said Powerco thanked customers for their patience.

”We are mindful of the inconvenience power cuts cause to customers and are working to safely get supply on to affected customers as soon as possible.”
