Powerco has joined forces with staff to raise money for this weekend's Taranaki Relay for Life.
The company has donated $800 to the Powerco team, which itself has already raised $2200 for the charity event. The funds will go towards the Cancer Society.
Powerco staff member Murray Dean lost his wife to cancer in 2011, and has recruited 12 employees plus their family and friends to join the company’s Relay for Life team.
“One of the team members is a cancer survivor, so we have plenty of motivation to complete the relay. Everyone is geared up and ready to go.”
Team members will take turns to walk around the track over 24 hours.
Powerco Corporate Affairs Manager Neil Holdom said the company was happy to contribute to the fundraiser, which is being held in New Plymouth on Saturday (23 March).
“It’s a worthy cause that we’re pleased to support. We’re proud of our staff for getting behind this event and know they’ll put in a huge effort on the day.”
