Powerco has donated three tablet devices to Bell Block School after laptops were taken in a Christmas holiday burglary.
Twelve laptops were taken from the school over the Christmas break. Three teenagers, who have been charged with the theft, returned just four of the laptops in working order.
Powerco Corporate Affairs Manager Neil Holdom said the company was happy to help out when it heard about the theft.
“We actively support the communities in which we operate, and are pleased we could contribute in this way.”
Bell Block School principal Roz Miller was thrilled with the donation, which brings the number of electronic devices that classes can share to seven.
“This is such a generous offer, which needless to say we immediately accepted,” she said. “We have parents who work for Powerco and I know they will be especially pleased to hear that their company shares its profits in this way.”
