Powerco is renewing the Waotu Road feeder from the Putaruru substation to further improve reliability of supply and cater for demands in future growth.
Powerco is investing around $100 million upgrading its electricity network over the next year.
Part of this involves renewing the Waotu Road feeder from the Putaruru substation to further improve reliability of supply and cater for demands in future growth. It follows on from upgrade work carried out on the feeder last year.
This information sheet is to provide you with details about the project and how it will affect you.
The project involves replacing ageing poles and cross arms, and upgrading overhead lines.
Planned power cuts are necessary while this work is performed due to the complexity of the project and to ensure safety.
As you are supplied by the Waotu Road feeder, you will be affected by the power cuts which are scheduled to take place during February and March.
We understand planned power cuts are an inconvenience, especially to the rural community. Please be assured that measures will be taken to minimise disruption where possible. Such measures include work being phased on alternate days and the use of multiple work crews.
Your electricity retailer will in due course issue notices of the specific outage dates and times as provided by Powerco. Please contact your retailer if you have any queries.
Powerco is committed to being a reliable partner delivering New Zealand energy future.
