Powerco is working with customers in Ashhurst following a power cut in the town about 11am yesterday (Wednesday).
Powerco Network Operations Manager Phil Marsh said the power cut, affecting 103 customers, occurred while work was being carried out on a transformer. Customers on Cambridge St, Wills Cres and Wyndham St were affected.
“We are working with customers who were affected by the power cut. Safety is a top priority for Powerco and we have an electrical inspector visiting each affected customer to check their properties.
“Powerco apologises for the inconvenience caused by the power cut,” Mr Marsh said.

If customers have suffered any damage, including appliance damage, they may wish to:
• Contact an electrician to assess the damage and repair the appliance if possible, and keep any receipts
• Take photos
• Notify their electricity retailer or Powerco
• Contact their insurance company
