Interruption to Power Supply - Update

Power supply has been restored to about 7,000 consumers in and around Tairua, Whitianga and Coromandel township following an outage on Powerco's network around 3.50pm today.
Powerco Network Operations Manager Phil Marsh said power was expected to be restored to the remaining 5,500 consumers by 8.30pm.
“The fault occurred in a 66,000 volt feeder line and was being repaired,” Mr Marsh said.
Powerco is New Zealand’s second largest electricity and gas distribution utility with around 400,000 consumers connected to its networks. Powerco’s electricity networks are in Tauranga, Thames, Coromandel, Eastern and Southern Waikato, Taranaki, Wanganui, Rangitikei, Manawatu and the Wairarapa. Its gas pipeline networks are in Taranaki, Hutt Valley, Porirua, Wellington, Horowhenua, Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay.
