INTERRUPTION TO POWER SUPPLY
 18 December 2008
Power supply to approximately 700 consumers in Bell Block, New Plymouth was interrupted today after a truck's high load contacted powerlines in Ninia Road.Powerco Network Operations Manager Ross Dixon said the accident occurred at approximately 12.00pm and the power was turned off at approximately 12.40pm so that repairs could be made.
"Supply was restored for most of the affected customers by 1.30pm. Final repairs were expected to be completed by late afternoon when power would be restored for a handful of customers who were still without power.
"The truck was carrying a very high load which contacted the powerlines and broke a power pole. The lines also got tangled in the accident," Mr Dixon said.
No one was injured in the accident.
