Powerco are the Gas Network Owner, we own gas mains in the road etc. Powerco are responsible to get the gas pipe from the main in the road up to your gas meter position.

What do I need a gas fitter for? What does a gas fitter do?

A gas fitter will quote you for the gas pipework from the gas meter into your house and can also quote you for your gas appliances. The gas fitter will install the connection between the gas meter supplied by Powerco and the appliances installed in your home or business.
 

What is involved in the gas process? What do I need to do to get gas connected to my house?

You can call the Gas Hub team at Powerco on 0508 427 482 to discuss the your Natural gas options. You can also apply for a connection online, choose a retailer and gas fitter to suit you needs and then enjoy the benefits of natural gas.

How long will it take for me to get gas connected?

Allow about 20 working days from application to approval.

Can I change Retailer/Billing Company after I have been connected?

Yes, your new chosen retailer will apply to your existing retailer for a switch.
