BASEPOWER to attend NZ Clean Energy Expo

BASEPOWER will be at the NZ Clean Energy Expo at Taupo on 15 and 16 October 2011. Come and see us to learn more about the new choice in off-grid power and the arrival of Redflow's flow battery technology for deep cycling applications. The expo is at the National Clean Energy Centre and provides an opportunity to see a range of clean energy technologies built in around the building.

Trial of remote area power supplies

The Victorian Government, through Energy Safe Victoria, has established the Powerline Bushfire Safety Taskforce to investigate options to reduce the risk that the electricity network starts bushfires. One of the trials involves giving 10 households in Victoria their own remote area power supply to generate their own electricity rather than be supplied from the electricity grid.

Recent highlights include RedFlow’s proprietary ZBM battery Reliability Demonstration Programme nearing 500 cycles and innovative use of RedFlow energy storage products to allow overhead electricity lines to be switched off during high fire risk times. Another is the work to demonstrate RedFlow’s megawatt scale storage capability using powerful solar photovoltaic generation.
